holy smokes! i can't believe it's been almost a month since my last blog entry! lots has happened since then and june is just as crazy busy as may, but today i just need to tell you how much i love my job.
i honestly didn't think that i would be a hairstylist until i started a family... it's an ideal job for a mom. you can set your own schedule, work 7 days a week or 1 day a week and determine your own wages and even work from your home... well, there are no love babies yet, but God's timetable was different than my own (go figure!) and at the request of several friends (some super close and some casual), i started working in a salon last march.
this last year has been a whirlwind and God has been faithful to provide both an income and lots of new friends. i feel so honored, not only that so many people trust me to take care of their locks, but that they trust me with the details of their lives... i've had the opportunity to pray with my clients, to provide counsel and have had things shared with me that only a few people on this planet know. it is truly an honor and privilege.
yesterday, i had 2 new clients come in for haircuts and in the last 30 minutes, i have had 2 referrals call to schedule appointments. i love my job everyday, but it's days like today that my heart wells up; when people call to chat for the first time and we figure out all our connections and the people we have in common. it's times like this when i have to stop what i'm doing and thank God for His infinite wisdom and timing.
my theme verse is printed on my business cards and my apron. "let no unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only that which is beneficial for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." (ephesians 4:29) it's my intention that every client my chair a place of hope and encouragement.
i truly think of my clientele as friends first and clients second. :)

Oh I love that you love your job! I appreciate your passion for what you do, and you do it so well. God's truly blessed you!! I'm thankful I found such an amazing stylist...
