so... kris and i have a new family doctor. we've had insurance again since march, but picking a doctor is a little overwhelming... (at least for me!) after polling several of my friends and clients over the last few months, i found that alot of my peeps go to trinity medical associates. so when we got our 2012 BCBST directory a couple of weeks ago, several of their physicians were listed, so i called to schedule an appointment for an annual physical for each of us.
our new doctor's name is angela schupp. i really like her. i've never been a big fan of medicine OR of going to the doctor and sitting in a lobby with a bunch of sick people - i usually am able to nurse myself back to health with soup, fruit and daily use of my neti pot... dr. schupp and i share a minimalistic approach when it comes to medicine and i like that.
i thought since my last post was about my dietary changes, i'd post something about my labwork and information so you could all see the difference it's made...
in a little over 2 months, i've lost 10 pounds, my cholesterol is 179, my blood pressure is 112/68 (not much different than before) and my blood sugar is 68.
i still have not had any meat, but have re-introduced eggs and some dairy into my diet, but usually less than 1 serving of each per day...
for the most part, i have more energy and food just tastes better... i'm trying really hard not to overdo it this holiday season but with so many good cooks around me, i'm having to practice portion control rather than deprivation. :)
i sure hope you are all enjoying my favorite month of the year! Christmas blessings from our home to yours... <3
